Commercial Senior Financial Analyst

Join Biffa's Commercial Collections Division as a Commercial Senior Financial Analyst and play a key role in shaping profitable growth across our Corporate and Major New Business channels. Working closely with senior sales and operational stakeholders, you'll use your commercial finance expertise to provide insight, challenge decisions and lead the financial modelling of new business opportunities. This is a high-impact business partnering role for someone who enjoys turning financial analysis into clear commercial decisions and wants to make a real difference to business performance.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Partner with Corporate and Major New Business Sales teams to provide commercial finance insight, challenge and advice throughout the sales and tender process, supporting high-quality, profitable decision-making
- Provide insightful financial reporting and performance analysis, including month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, identifying key drivers, risks and opportunities and translating financial data into actionable insight
- Analyse sales and commercial performance, including win/loss trends and drivers, to identify opportunities to improve conversion, profitability and overall business performance
- Lead the calculation and governance of sales incentive schemes, ensuring accurate, timely and well-controlled bonus reporting
- Drive continuous improvement and effective business partnering, strengthening relationships across Finance, Sales and Operations while identifying opportunities to improve processes, automation and use of data and systems such as Power BI, SharePoint and Excel

Our Essential Requirements
- Commercial finance experience at least 2 years' experience in a commercial finance, commercial accounting or financial analysis role, ideally within a sales, tendering or new business environment
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to assess commercial opportunities, understand profitability and use financial insight to support and influence business decisions
- Qualified accountant preferred ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification is desirable but not essential, alongside solid experience of month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills, with a genuine interest in using data, automation and technology to improve commercial finance processes and ways of working
- Strong commercial and stakeholder skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions, influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance audiences
- Highly organised and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, alongside a full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to Biffa sites, including occasional overnight stays
