About this role:

As our Senior Financial Controller UK & Ireland, you will lead critical controllership for our UK & Ireland trading segment within Group Finance. You'll deliver excellence by leading our Audit process, ensuring financial regulatory compliance, certifying the monthly P&L and Balance Sheet while navigating complex compliance and tax regulations.

You will care for our business by mitigating financial risk and improving processes. This role requires a customer-centric approach as you collaborate with senior stakeholders across UK Commercial Finance and Global Finance Operations to deliver impact.

Key components of the position:

  • Drive financial controllership for the UK & Ireland, aiming high to ensure the integrity and quality of all reporting deliverables.
  • Lead as the primary audit coordinator, preparing position papers and managing relationships with external auditors.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Group Accounting Manual (IFRS) and local GAAP, driving excellence in reporting standards.
  • Deliver excellence by overseeing UK&I results and reviewing Global Finance Operations (GFO) output for reliability.
  • Collaborate across UK Commercial Finance, Group Control, GFO, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury, acting as a vital communication channel to help one another succeed.
  • Raise the bar by performing critical analyses on financial data to ensure an efficient and accurate Month-End Close.
  • Simplify complex processes by implementing automation and AI-driven solutions for financial reporting and compliance.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Deep understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and audit standards with a commitment to achieving goals.
  • Experience in audit or controllership within a large listed multinational or Big 4 environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; professional qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/RA) are a strong asset.
  • Develop an understanding of internal and external partners through expert stakeholder management and collaboration.
  • Technical expertise in financial modelling and consolidation tools to aim higher and drive excellence.
  • Act responsibly by maintaining a helicopter view of finance processes to anticipate accounting and tax implications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive, well-organised approach and the ability to stay committed to goals under pressure.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology and AI to simplify complex processes and move fast.
