Role Details

As a Senior Financial Crime Adviser, you'll provide expert guidance on a broad range of financial crime matters, supporting the business with pragmatic, risk-based advice. Working within a collaborative global team, you'll advise on AML, sanctions, client onboarding, regulatory developments, and wider financial crime risks across an international business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day advisory support on AML, sanctions, and wider financial crime matters.
  • Assess financial crime risks associated with new business, client onboarding, and ongoing engagements.
  • Review complex referrals and provide commercially focused, risk-based recommendations.
  • Support the development, implementation, and enhancement of financial crime policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise the business on emerging financial crime risks.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across legal, compliance, and business teams to ensure regulatory obligations are met.
  • Deliver training and guidance to colleagues on financial crime requirements and best practice.
  • Contribute to strategic projects aimed at strengthening the firm's financial crime framework.

Experience Required

  • 3-5+ years' experience within Financial Crime, AML, Compliance, or Risk.
  • Legal Services experience.
  • Strong knowledge of sanctions, client due diligence, and broader financial crime regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex regulatory issues in a practical, commercial manner.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A law degree is advantageous but not essential.
