6-Month Fixed-Term Contract | £80,000 + Benefits - North Hertfordshire | Hybrid Working (2 Days per Week Onsite)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Crime professional to join a growing UK financial services organisation on a 6-month fixed-term contract. - Deliver Financial Crime monitoring and assurance reviews across AML, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery & Corruption controls.
- Conduct thematic reviews, control testing and independent oversight activities.
- Assess the effectiveness of first-line Financial Crime controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Track and report on remediation activity and control enhancements.
- Support the ongoing development of the Financial Crime monitoring and assurance programme.
- Produce concise and insightful reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Provide practical Financial Crime advice and guidance to the business.
- Support internal audits, regulatory reviews and wider governance activity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
