Financial Accounting Opportunity

A high-impact Financial Accounting opportunity within a growing multi-site, multi-entity organisation. You'll take ownership of group financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, budgeting, forecasting, statutory accounts and audit, while providing insight to senior leadership and key stakeholders. The role will also play a key part in transforming finance through automation, data analytics, BI and AI-led solutions.

What you'll do

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly management accounts across multiple entities, ensuring accurate, timely and consistent reporting.
  • Own the month-end and year-end close processes, coordinating reporting deadlines and resolving issues.
  • Provide insightful variance analysis and commentary against budget, forecast and prior periods.
  • Take ownership of balance sheet controls, reconciliations and financial governance across the Group.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, challenging assumptions and providing scenario analysis.
  • Prepare Board-level reporting and financial information for senior leadership, investors and lenders.
  • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and act as a key contact for external auditors and professional advisers.
  • Develop meaningful financial and operational KPIs to support commercial decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls and processes through automation, BI, data analytics and AI.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, including systems implementation, process redesign and reporting automation.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the wider finance function and help strengthen the organisation's control environment.

What you'll bring

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong experience across financial reporting, management accounting and month-end close.
  • Sound knowledge of statutory accounting, audit and financial controls.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
  • Experience producing Board-level, investor or senior stakeholder reporting.
  • Strong balance sheet management and reconciliation experience.
  • Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience working within a multi-site or multi-entity environment is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to a private equity-backed environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience with BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau or similar would be beneficial.
  • An interest in leveraging automation, AI and emerging technology to improve finance processes.
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading finance colleagues would be advantageous.
  • Commercially minded, analytical and confident communicating financial information to senior stakeholders.
