Senior Financial Modeller & Strategic Analyst
Hertfordshire / Greater London (Hybrid 3 days office)
Circa £100,000 (Flexibility for an exceptional candidate) + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Modeller to take a highly visible role within a major global organisation, working at the heart of strategic decision-making.
This is not simply an FP&A role requiring advanced Excel skills. We are looking for someone who has previously operated as a genuine Financial Modeller, with extensive experience working with complex integrated three-statement models and, highly likely, formal financial modelling training gained within a Big 4, consultancy or similarly rigorous modelling environment.
Technical modelling ability is only half of the brief. You will also be an outstanding business partner and communicator, comfortable taking sophisticated analysis and explaining what sits behind the numbers, what they mean for the business and what decisions should follow.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of an existing, highly sophisticated financial model which sits at the centre of the organisation's long-range planning and strategic analysis.
The model is already well developed, so this isn't a role where you'll simply build something from scratch and hand it over. The organisation is still relatively early in its journey, creating significant scope to develop the model further, increase its sophistication and broaden how it is used across the business. More importantly, you will use it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll undertake scenario and sensitivity analysis, stress testing and financial resilience work to help senior leadership understand the potential implications of different strategic decisions.
Your analysis will span a broad range of commercially significant areas, potentially including:
- Treasury, cash flow and financial resilience
- Long-range planning and integrated P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow modelling
- Covenants and refinancing
- Strategic projects and investment decisions
- Cost-out and efficiency programmes
- Scenario planning and sensitivity analysis
- Compliance and regulatory requirements
- Business cases and wider strategic initiatives
This is genuine strategic analysis rather than modelling for modelling's sake.
You'll have significant exposure to senior executives and key external stakeholders, presenting complex analysis in a way that is clear, commercially relevant and capable of influencing strategic direction. Working directly with Executive Team members and producing analysis and messaging for senior management and external regulatory stakeholders. You'll also manage one direct report.
What we're looking for:
You'll be a highly accomplished Financial Modeller with exceptional Excel capability and extensive experience developing, maintaining and, crucially, using complex integrated three-statement financial models.
