FINANCIAL PLANNER – EDINBURGH
SIGNIFICANT SIX FIGURE BASIC | DISCRETIONARY BONUS | EDINBURGH | HYBRID
This is a genuinely compelling opportunity for an experienced Financial Planner to join one of the UK's largest and most prestigious wealth management businesses.
Our client is one of the most established names in UK wealth management with a significant national presence and a large, high-quality client base. They have a substantial team of Investment Managers serving HNW and UHNW clients with portfolios. The business is now actively growing its financial planning capability and is looking to bring in experienced financial planners to work alongside the investment management teams in Edinburgh, delivering holistic financial planning advice to existing clients of the business.
This is not a new business hunting role. You will not be expected to cold prospect for clients. Instead you will work closely with Investment Managers, attend new client pitches alongside them, and meet with their existing clients to deliver financial planning advice where it is needed. It is a collaborative, relationship-driven environment that rewards those who can work effectively alongside others and deliver outstanding outcomes for HNW clients. The business also offers the flexibility to deliver one-off advice as well as ongoing services, which is a genuinely distinctive feature of their proposition.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
