Financial Planner – Edinburgh

£85,000 – £95,000 BASIC | BONUS | EDINBURGH | WHOLE OF MARKET PROPOSITION

A compelling opportunity for an experienced Financial Planner to join a well-regarded independent financial planning business to be based in their Edinburgh (hybrid working), inheriting an established HNW family clients and continuing to grow the portfolio within a highly supportive environment.

This is a role for someone who enjoys both the relationship side of financial planning and the commercial opportunity that comes with growing a quality client book. You will take over an existing portfolio of HNW clients predominantly based in/around Edinburgh, delivering holistic independent financial planning across all areas of their financial lives, whilst also developing new relationships through established professional connections and client referrals. Full paraplanning and administrative support is in place so your focus can remain entirely on your clients.

The role:

  • Inherit and manage a portfolio of HNW clients, delivering holistic whole of market financial planning advice across pensions, investments, IHT, retirement, and estate planning
  • Build and develop the client book through established joint venture relationships with professional connections and ongoing client referrals
  • Provide an outstanding ongoing client experience, conducting regular reviews and proactively identifying new planning opportunities

What we are looking for:

  • An experienced Financial Planner with a strong track record of advising private clients
  • Chartered status is desirable but not essential, and candidates working towards Chartered or close to achieving it are very welcome to apply
  • Someone who is comfortable both managing an inherited client portfolio and developing new relationships through being proactive working with professional connections and through client referrals
  • A client-first approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to build long-term trusted relationships
  • Based in or within commutable distance of Edinburgh

What is on offer:

  • A basic salary of £85,000 to £95,000 depending on experience
  • A bonus structure based on new fee income generated, new recurring income introduced, and the ongoing management of the inherited client book
