Established and Growing Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy Seeks Senior Fire Engineer

An established and growing multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Engineer to play a key leadership role within its expanding Building & Fire Safety team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically accomplished fire engineering professional to combine project leadership with team development, helping to shape and grow a respected fire engineering function delivering work across a broad portfolio of complex commercial, residential, public sector and higher-risk buildings.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide technical direction across challenging projects, mentor and develop engineers, oversee quality and governance, and act as a trusted adviser to clients and design teams throughout the project life cycle.

The Role

You'll lead the delivery of fire engineering solutions on complex developments while providing technical oversight, peer review and strategic guidance across the wider team. Alongside project delivery, you'll play an important role in developing people, supporting business growth and maintaining the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of fire engineering strategies on complex and higher-risk buildings.
  • Provide technical leadership, review and quality assurance across multiple projects.
  • Act as a senior technical adviser to clients, design teams and regulatory authorities.
  • Mentor, develop and support a team of Fire Engineers, encouraging technical excellence and professional development.
  • Contribute to business development through client engagement, fee proposals and tender support.
  • Drive continuous improvement of fire engineering processes, standards and best practice.
  • Support multidisciplinary project teams from concept design through to completion.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Fire Engineer who can demonstrate:

  • Significant UK fire engineering consultancy experience.
  • Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer (or actively working towards Chartership).
  • Excellent knowledge of UK fire legislation, Building Regulations, Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991, BS 7974 and the Building Safety Act.
  • Experience leading complex fire engineering projects and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to balance technical excellence and commercial awareness.
  • Experience of CFD modelling, ASET/RSET analysis or performance-based fire engineering would be advantageous.
