Senior Fire Engineer - Aberdeen

Paradigm Fire Protection Services is looking for a Senior Fire Engineer to join its Aberdeen team. The role combines fire protection engineering, technical assurance, client support, and technology development across offshore oil, gas, and petrochemical applications, with a particular focus on deluge and active fire protection systems.

What We Expect

  • Educational Background: A Fire Engineering Qualification is preferred.
  • Certifications: BOSIET, MIST, and valid offshore medical.
  • Professional Experience: Considerable experience within the offshore oil, gas, and petrochemical industries, with a background in fire protection and safety engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Good working knowledge of NFPA, API, and EN standards and guidelines.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to technical work.

Your Responsibilities

  • Take the technical lead for all fire protection scopes across a range of projects.
  • Organise and deliver Fire Services training where required.
  • Support Fire Services management with fire management audits.
  • Liaise directly with clients on Fire Hazard Management activities.
  • Review and verify in-house reports prior to submission to clients.
  • Lead the development of policies and procedures and technical documentation, including wet testing, foam testing, and O&M manuals for offshore fire safety equipment.
  • Support in-house training and management of deluge systems and associated components.
  • Develop, review, and verify hydraulic models for client fire protection systems.
  • Contribute to the development of new technologies and innovative approaches, specifically in the field of deluge testing.
  • Support project management and engineering activities across fire safety system projects.
  • Apply applicable British, European, NFPA, and API standards, codes, and guidelines across engineering activities.
