Senior Engineer Fire & Security
Location: Bristol
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: £45,000 per annum
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Fire & Security Engineer to join our engineering team in Bristol. This is a hands-on senior and supervisory role, responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across a chain of care homes.
You will act as the onsite point of contact for the client and tenants, ensuring maintenance and reactive works are completed efficiently, professionally and to a high standard. You will also provide technical support and supervision to the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across a chain of care homes.
- Complete reactive calls covering fire, security and electrical systems.
- Plan and coordinate PPM schedules, ensuring works are completed within required timescales.
- Maintain accurate PPM documentation, records and certification.
- Act as the onsite point of contact for clients and tenants.
- Respond to faults and breakdowns, diagnosing issues and carrying out appropriate repairs.
- Provide technical support and supervision to the engineering team.
- Oversee engineers and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Liaise with clients and site teams to ensure maintenance and reactive issues are dealt with promptly.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with company standards and relevant procedures.
- Assist with maintaining strong client relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction.

About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience working within fire and security engineering.
- Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
- Knowledge and experience across fire, security and electrical systems.
- Experience working across multiple sites, ideally within a care, housing or similar environment.
- Previous experience at a senior or supervisory engineering level.
- Experience with PPM planning, documentation and certification.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- The ability to act professionally as the main onsite contact for clients and tenants.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive approach to resolving technical and customer issues.
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
