Senior Fixed Income Performance & Attribution Analyst - Investment Management

London

Role Summary

A global investment manager is seeking a Senior Fixed Income Performance & Attribution Analyst to join a high-performing team in London. The successful candidate will play an integral role within the team, providing leadership, mentorship, and quality assurance to junior colleagues, while independently managing complex assignments.

The role will focus on calculating, validating, and analyzing investment performance and attribution across Fixed Income portfolios, funds, accounts, composites, indices, and benchmarks. The individual will work closely with investment professionals and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, providing high-quality analytics and insight to support investment decision-making.

The role will also provide subject matter expertise across performance measurement, attribution, and investment analytics, with opportunities to contribute to process improvement and broader team initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with investment teams on portfolio reviews, providing clear analysis and insight into Fixed Income performance and attribution.
  • Produce, review, and explain performance and attribution across funds, accounts, managers, composites, indices, and benchmarks.
  • Investigate complex performance queries and discrepancies, identifying root causes, and driving issues through to resolution.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Fixed Income performance, attribution, and investment analytics.
  • Develop and maintain portfolio structures, bespoke benchmarks, and indices to support accurate investment measurement.
  • Work across Investment, Operations, Technology, Sales, and other stakeholder groups to deliver high-quality analytics.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, investigate issues, and generate meaningful investment insights.
  • Present performance and attribution findings confidently to investment professionals and other senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex performance and attribution queries, providing guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop analytical tools, forecasting models, and other solutions to support investment and business decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, improve controls, and increase the efficiency and scalability of the function.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best-practice approaches across the team.
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior colleagues, sharing technical knowledge, and helping to raise the overall quality of the team.
  • Build effective relationships across a broad stakeholder base, balancing competing priorities and managing expectations.
  • Stay current with developments across investment markets, performance analytics, technology, and industry best practice.
  • Ensure performance reporting and processes remain aligned with relevant regulatory, compliance, and control requirements.
  • Contribute to wider team and departmental initiatives focused on innovation, operational improvement, and talent development.

  • Strong background in Fixed Income, with a solid understanding of performance measurement, attribution, and risk.
  • Demonstrable experience analyzing Fixed Income performance and explaining the key drivers behind investment performance.
  • Strong knowledge of investment markets, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights.
  • Experience using performance and investment analytics platforms such as FactSet, Bloomberg, Aladdin, or similar.
  • Highly analytical approach, with a track record of investigating complex issues, identifying root causes, and delivering practical solutions.
  • Confident communicator, able to present detailed analysis and challenge or explain findings to investment professionals and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with experience working effectively across Investment, Operations, Technology, and wider business teams.
  • Able to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable navigating complex or ambiguous situations and taking ownership through to resolution.
  • Naturally curious, with the ability to quickly understand complex investment, data, and performance-related issues.
  • Strong data and technical capabilities, ideally including SQL, Excel, Alteryx, and/or Python.
  • Experience working with data visualization and analytical tools to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Good project management skills, with the ability to contribute to and drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Previous experience coaching, mentoring, or developing junior team members would be advantageous.
  • CFA, CIPM, or equivalent professional qualification would be beneficial.
