About BondX
BondX is a fixed income investment firm focused on global credit markets.
Our core investment coverage includes USD investment-grade corporate and financial bonds, alongside selected opportunities in sovereign and quasi-sovereign debt, emerging-market credit, high-yield bonds, subordinated debt, and perpetual securities.
We are looking for an experienced fixed income trader to join our London team and strengthen our global trading and market coverage.
The Role
This is a senior position for a trader who combines strong execution capability with market judgement, liquidity access, and a deep understanding of institutional credit markets.
The successful candidate will work closely with portfolio managers and investment professionals to execute portfolio decisions, identify market opportunities, and provide real-time insight into liquidity, flows, and pricing.
This is not a purely execution-only position. We expect the trader to contribute actively to investment discussions and the development of the firm’s trading capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute institutional-sized cash bond transactions, with a primary focus on USD investment-grade corporate and financial credit.
- Source liquidity and achieve efficient execution across electronic platforms, RFQ workflows, voice trading, and bilateral dealer relationships.
- Provide real-time market colour, price discovery, liquidity intelligence, and relative-value observations to portfolio managers.
- Monitor credit spreads, rates curves, new issuance, dealer inventories, investor flows, and secondary-market activity.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with global investment banks, broker-dealers, trading venues, and other market participants.
- Work closely with portfolio managers and research professionals to translate investment views into executable trading strategies.
- Support portfolio construction and risk management through analysis of liquidity, execution costs, and market conditions.
- Maintain high standards of best execution, trade documentation, operational control, and post-trade review.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of trading systems, execution workflows, and market-data analysis.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
