🚀 Senior Flood Risk Modeller – Flood & Catchment Resilience

📍 Leeds, UK | 🏠 Hybrid Working | 💰 Contract Outside IR35 or Permanent opportunity

What if your next role gave you the opportunity to do more than build flood models - and instead help shape how organisations understand, manage, and invest in flood resilience?

I'm working with a growing specialist consultancy looking for an experienced Senior Flood Risk Modeller to join its expanding Flood & Catchment Resilience team.

This is an opportunity to work on complex flood risk and drainage projects across the UK, combining hydraulic modelling, GIS, catchment understanding, and emerging digital technologies to help clients make better, evidence-led decisions.

🔧 The Role:

  • Lead the development and delivery of hydraulic and hydrological modelling studies
  • Build, review, and apply models using platforms such as:
    • TUFLOW
    • MIKE+
    • HEC-RAS
    • Flood Modeller
    • InfoWorks ICM
  • Deliver flood risk assessments, drainage studies, and catchment investigations
  • Evaluate flood alleviation options, nature-based solutions, and resilience measures
  • Work across river, surface water, sewer, and integrated catchment systems
  • Integrate modelling outputs with GIS, asset data, monitoring information, and wider spatial datasets
  • Support major programmes focused on flood risk management, drainage strategy, wastewater resilience, and climate adaptation
  • Translate complex modelling results into clear recommendations for clients and stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members 👥
  • Contribute to innovative approaches including digital twins, automation, real-time data, and emerging analytical techniques
  • Support bids, business development, and client engagement

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
