Job Description:
Senior Flooring Estimator & Sales Consultant
Cambridgeshire Carpets Ltd
Location: Cambridgeshire & surrounding areas
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive basic salary + performance-based UNCAPPED commission
Commission: Starting at 3%, with opportunities to increase your commission rate by exceeding monthly targets
The Opportunity
Are you an experienced flooring estimator or salesperson who wants your earning potential to reflect your performance?
Cambridgeshire Carpets is looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Senior Flooring Estimator & Sales Consultant to join our growing team.
This is more than a traditional estimating role. You will combine flooring expertise, surveying, estimating and sales, working with both residential customers and commercial clients. You'll visit customers in their homes, take flooring samples, measure their requirements, recommend suitable products, prepare quotations and, most importantly, convert opportunities into sales.
You'll also work with contractors, developers, housing associations, schools, property managers and other commercial clients, attending sites, assessing requirements and producing accurate and competitive quotations.
Performance-Based Commission
You'll start on a 3% commission rate, with the opportunity to move onto higher commission rates when agreed monthly sales targets are exceeded.
The principle is simple:
- Sell more
- Exceed your target
- Increase your commission rate
- Increase your earning potential
This is a role for someone who is motivated by results and wants their performance to have a direct impact on their earnings.
About Cambridgeshire Carpets
Cambridgeshire Carpets is an established flooring business supplying and installing a wide range of flooring products for residential and commercial customers.
We're ambitious about where we're going and are continuing to develop our sales and commercial operation.
We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us — someone who doesn't simply want to produce quotations, but wants to own the opportunity from initial enquiry through to sale.
You'll be representing our business directly with customers, contractors, developers and commercial clients, so professionalism, product knowledge and the ability to build trust are essential.
The Role
As our Senior Flooring Estimator & Sales Consultant, you'll work across both B2C and B2B sales.
Residential B2C Sales
You will visit customers in their homes to:
- Understand their flooring requirements, preferences and budget.
- Take appropriate flooring samples to customer appointments.
- Measure rooms and areas accurately.
- Assess existing flooring and subfloor conditions.
- Identify potential installation issues.
- Recommend suitable flooring products and specifications.
- Explain product options, benefits and installation requirements.
- Prepare accurate and professional quotations.
- Present quotations and explain the proposed solution.
- Follow up enquiries and outstanding quotations.
- Convert enquiries into confirmed orders.
- Identify appropriate opportunities to upsell or introduce additional products.
- Build strong customer relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
This is a consultative sales role. You're not simply measuring a room and sending a price — you'll be helping the customer choose the right flooring solution and winning their business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
