Role: Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Compensation: £95,000 – £130,000 per year + Bonus & Equity Options
About the Role:
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Forward Deployed Engineer on behalf of our client, a prominent global food-tech and delivery platform in London. In this hybrid engineering and client-facing leadership role, you will embed with strategic enterprise partners to design, implement, and deploy bespoke integration architectures, high-performance APIs, and custom middleware solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, code, and deploy custom technical integrations, middleware, and SDKs connecting tier-one enterprise partners with core systems.
- Serve as the primary technical authority during complex enterprise onboarding and high-value commercial partnership implementations.
- Diagnose and resolve complex distributed systems integration challenges spanning authentication (OAuth), webhooks, and REST/gRPC APIs.
- Partner closely with core Platform Engineering and Product teams to feed enterprise partner requirements back into the core product roadmap.
- Write clean, robust, and well-tested code in modern programming languages (Go, Java, Python, or TypeScript).
- Deliver comprehensive architectural blueprints, API documentation, and implementation playbooks for partner engineering squads.
- Lead technical incident resolution, debugging sessions, and performance tuning for critical partner pipelines during launch windows.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on software development or solutions engineering experience building production-grade distributed systems.
- Strong technical mastery in Golang, Java, Python, or TypeScript, with modern cloud architectures (AWS, GCP).
- In-depth expertise in API design, microservices architectures, event brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and data synchronization patterns.
- Outstanding consultative and interpersonal capabilities, comfortable advising enterprise CTOs and lead architects.
- Proven track record deploying complex technical solutions in client-facing or mission-critical enterprise environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
- Fluent in English.
