Full time - to be worked flexibly across five days (Monday-Friday)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to join our Business team providing Fractional Finance services. The team supports ambitious businesses that need reliable, flexible finance function support, ranging from bookkeeping and VAT compliance through to management accounts, reporting, cashflow information and practical financial insight.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients, colleagues and our specialist teams to deliver high-quality outsourced finance support. You will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, ensuring that bookkeeping records are accurate, VAT returns are prepared and submitted correctly, month-end processes are completed efficiently, and management information is produced in a timely and meaningful way.
This is a client-facing role, requiring confidence in communicating with business owners and their teams, identifying improvements in finance processes, and acting as a trusted point of contact for day-to-day finance queries.

You will also help oversee work prepared by colleagues and support the development of the Fractional Finance offering as the team grows.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing the delivery of bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts for a portfolio of clients.
- Reviewing work prepared by colleagues and ensuring quality and consistency.
- Producing management information that helps clients understand performance and make decisions.
- Acting as a key point of contact for client finance queries.
- Identifying opportunities to improve client systems, processes and reporting.
- Supporting the development of the Fractional Finance service line.
- Supporting clients to meet the MTD submission requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice, outsourced finance team, or finance department.
- Strong bookkeeping and management accounts experience for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
- Confident using cloud accounting software, particularly Xero and/or QuickBooks.
- Good working knowledge of VAT, including VAT rates, VAT schemes and partial exemption.
- Experience preparing accurate and timely management accounts.
- Ability to review bookkeeping records and identify errors, omissions or areas for improvement.
- Able to demonstrate confidence working with financial data and analytical tools.
- Able to manage work across multiple clients, prioritise deadlines and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Confident communicating directly with clients and colleagues.
- Able to provide high-quality client service and build trusted working relationships.
- Experience supporting, reviewing or mentoring more junior team members.

Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience training clients or colleagues on cloud accounting software.
- Experience migrating clients to digital platforms and improving finance processes.
- Familiarity with apps and add-ons for Xero, QuickBooks or wider finance reporting.
- Experience using Copilot
- Experience preparing cashflow reports, budgets or forecasts.
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses.
- Access to suitable transport, as some work may be carried out at client premises.
