The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Front End React Engineer to join a major digital transformation programme focused on modernising critical services. Working within a large Agile engineering team, you'll help build and enhance modern web applications while contributing to the migration of legacy functionality into new digital products.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced React engineer who can provide technical leadership, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the wider engineering capability. While the primary focus is Front End development, there is an opportunity to broaden your skills across the full technology stack.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React and JavaScript.
- Work within Agile Scrum teams delivering high-quality software in two-week sprint cycles.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Leads, Designers, and Engineers to deliver business-critical solutions.
- Drive engineering best practices, code quality, and testing standards.
- Coach and mentor less experienced developers.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and solution development.
- Support automated testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of product features.
- Develop a broader understanding of back-end technologies and cross-functional delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
