About the Role
We’re looking for an exceptional Contract Front-End Developer to join a high-performing technology team within a leading bank, where your expertise will help shape modern digital experiences at scale. This is a genuinely hands-on engineering role for an experienced Front-End Engineer who can pick up an existing application, understand it quickly and start delivering high-quality solutions with minimal support.
You’ll work with React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES9/2018), HTML5, CSS Modules and RESTful APIs, building responsive, high-quality applications using an internally developed JavaScript/React framework. The initial contract comes with the potential for extension, making this an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door and build a longer-term relationship with the team.
Responsibilities
- Translate wireframes and visual designs into production-quality applications
- Make sound technical decisions and solve problems programmatically
- Collaborate directly with Business and Technical Stakeholders
- Lead and participate in Show and Tell sessions
- Act as the Front-End Subject Matter Expert, bringing your experience and ideas to the table
- Help raise the bar across the wider Front-End and UI Development community through knowledge sharing, mentoring and championing engineering best practice

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
