Senior Frontend Engineer (React / Next.js) - Herefordshire/Hybrid

We’re working with a well-established, growing organisation that has recently undergone a major transformation across its technology function, with significant investment and huge growth within the technical team.

As part of this continued growth, they’re now looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer with strong React and Next.js experience to join the team.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence frontend architecture, make important technical decisions, improve engineering standards and play a key role in how customer-facing applications are designed, built and delivered.

This is a role for someone who wants genuine ownership. You’ll be trusted to work with a high degree of autonomy, bring fresh ideas to the table and take responsibility for solutions from initial concept through to production.

The Role

  • Designing and developing scalable React and Next.js applications
  • Helping shape frontend architecture and technical standards
  • Making decisions around component architecture, state management and application performance
  • Improving page performance, rendering and bundle sizes
  • Taking ownership of the quality and testing of your code
  • Writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code, including unit testing
  • Contributing to technical strategy and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Working with cloud-based environments and supporting live production applications
  • Considering resilience, scalability and performance throughout the development lifecycle
  • Championing accessibility and ensuring applications meet strong accessibility standards
  • Working closely with wider engineering teams to establish and improve development practices
  • Mentoring and supporting more junior engineers
  • Exploring and adopting AI-assisted development tools where they can genuinely improve productivity and delivery

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
