Frontend Engineer – React & TypeScript
High-Growth AI Scale-Up | London
We're working with an ambitious, fast-growing AI scale-up building cutting-edge technology with the potential to transform how businesses operate. With strong momentum and big plans for the next stage of growth, they're looking for an exceptional Frontend Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping their product and engineering team.
This is a hugely important hire. You'll take ownership of core frontend development, building sophisticated, high-performance user interfaces that make powerful AI capabilities accessible, intuitive and genuinely useful to customers.
The Role
- Take ownership of key areas of the frontend, building and scaling complex applications using React and TypeScript.
- Develop intuitive, polished user experiences that bring sophisticated AI-powered products to life.
- Make key technical decisions around frontend architecture, performance, scalability and maintainability.
- Work closely with backend engineers, product teams and leadership to shape the product roadmap and deliver new features.
- Solve challenging engineering problems, from managing complex application state to building responsive, data-rich interfaces.
- Establish best practices, raise engineering standards and help shape how the frontend is built as the business scales.
- Have a genuine influence on the product, the technology and the future direction of the engineering team.

What We're Looking For
- Deep, hands-on experience with React and TypeScript – this is the most important requirement.
- A strong software engineering foundation, with experience building and maintaining complex frontend applications in production.
- A solid understanding of frontend architecture, component design, state management and performance optimisation.
- A strong eye for detail and a genuine appreciation for building intuitive, high-quality user experiences.
- The ability to take ownership of problems, make sound technical decisions and deliver without needing constant direction.
- Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve and engineers have real influence over the product.
