Senior Frontend Web Engineer

Location: Cramlington, Newcastle area, UK (Hybrid: Minimum 2 days in office)
Salary: £52,000 – £58,000 per annum
Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Our platform brings together live stages, shows, creators, and gaming experiences. We are building a dynamic team to power the next evolution of our web presence, and we are looking for a Senior Frontend Web Engineer to play a key role in that growth.
The Opportunity
They are evolving their core web application into a distinct, rich product experience that stands alongside their mobile apps. This means reaching parity on key product functionality—like live gifting, content creation, and interactive audio/gaming features—while modernizing their technical foundation.
You will join their Web Chapter to lead feature development, drive technical improvements, and help navigate an ongoing, multi-year migration from a legacy Polymer application to a modern React and TypeScript architecture.

About 90% or more of your work will focus on their main user-facing application, alongside occasional contributions to our internal admin panel, marketing pages, and legacy site integrations.
What You’ll Do
- Take Ownership: Lead projects end-to-end from initial concept through to rollout, making architectural choices that balance rapid delivery with long-term code health.
- Modernize the Stack: Contribute directly to their Polymer-to-React migration, introducing modern design patterns, component architectures, and best practices.
- Ship Impactful Features: Build complex, dynamic, and highly interactive user interfaces in cross-functional squads alongside backend engineers, QA, and product teams.
- Maintain Quality & Workflows: Improve development workflows, refine UI consistency, and maintain high standards through constructive code reviews.
- Mentor & Collaborate: Share technical knowledge within the web chapter and collaborate across engineering teams to tackle challenging projects autonomously.
What They’re Looking For
Essential (Must-Have)
- Senior Engineering Depth: Proven track record building complex, highly dynamic, interactive web applications (beyond static websites or basic storefronts).
- Modern Framework Expertise: Mastery of at least one modern frontend framework (React, Vue, Angular, etc.).
- Autonomy & Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex technical problems and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
- Collaboration & Communication: Clear, effective spoken and written English, with the ability to collaborate smoothly across engineering squads.
- UK Work Authorization: Pre-existing full right to work in the UK.

Desirable (Nice-to-Have)
- React & TypeScript: Direct, hands-on experience with React and TypeScript.
- Legacy Migrations: Experience migrating legacy frameworks (e.g., Polymer) to modern frontend stacks.
- Design Systems: Experience working with structured UI design systems.
- Remote Experience & Stability: A track record in hybrid/remote setups and a stable career history.
What is on Offer
- Competitive Salary: £52,000 – £58,000
- Flexible Hybrid Working: Minimum 2 days per week in our Cramlington office
