Role Description

The Senior Full-Stack AI & Data Engineer / Technical Build Lead is a full-time remote role responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining Kigo’s end-to-end software and data platform. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role involves:

  • Leading technical decision-making
  • Owning the build and deployment pipeline
  • Ensuring code quality, performance, and security across the stack

The engineer will work closely with product, design, and operations teams to translate user needs into robust technical solutions, while mentoring other engineers and contributing to best practices. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on coding, technical leadership, and solving complex problems in a mission-led environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong Back-End Web Development and Full-Stack Development skills, with experience designing scalable APIs and services.
  • Front-End Development and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) skills, including building responsive, accessible user interfaces.
  • Solid Software Development skills, including proficiency in one or more modern languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar) and familiarity with software engineering best practices.
  • Experience with AI and data engineering (e.g., data pipelines, model integration, analytics, and real-time data processing) is highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience as a technical lead, including ownership of architecture, code reviews, and mentoring other engineers, is preferred.
  • Comfort working in a remote, cross-functional startup environment, with strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD, and modern web frameworks is an advantage.
  • A relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent professional experience is desirable.
