🌳 What you'll bring
- Full stack development experience — front end and back end
- Node.js, Express.js, Nunjucks and the GOV.UK Design System
- Java / Spring Boot
- Scripting experience and comfort working with MongoDB
- DevOps exposure — Terraform, AWS
- QA/testing mindset — Jest, Gherkin (BDD)
- Solid grasp of technical architecture and system design
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- BA/PO awareness — you understand the product lens, not just the code
- UCD / user research familiarity
- A genuine appetite for mentoring and coaching junior developers
- Excellent stakeholder management — comfortable context-switching across multiple teams

🌳 The details
- Location: Newcastle (hybrid)
- Rate: £490 p.d (Umbrella/Inside IR35 — inc. fees)
- Client: Public sector / central government
- Clearance: Candidates must be BPSS eligible (Baseline Personnel Security Standard — UK national or settled status, clean basic background check, right to work in the UK)
