Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Salary: £60,000-£85,000 DOE
Location: Manchester - Hybrid

Maxwell Bond have partnered with a rapidly growing AI SaaS business who are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

The company is entering an exciting period of growth, with further investment, a growing customer base and several new products in development. As a result, they're continuing to build out their engineering team to support the next phase of the business.

Their product is AI-native from the ground up, built around real-time and conversational experiences.

As Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you'll be joining a growing engineering team and working closely with Product, Design and Senior Leadership. There's plenty of scope to get involved beyond development, contributing to product ideas, solving technical challenges and helping shape how the platform evolves as the business scales.

What You'll Do

  • Own significant product and platform initiatives from discovery and requirements gathering through to design, development, release and ongoing improvement.
  • Build user-facing features across a React/TypeScript frontend and Python backend, working with Django and FastAPI.
  • Lead technical and architectural decisions, considering scalability, reliability, performance and maintainability as the platform grows.
  • Build and improve real-time voice AI experiences, with a focus on performance, responsiveness and creating great interactive user experiences.
  • Take ownership of projects and technical decisions, helping the team continue to improve its engineering practices as the business scales.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience building user-facing products and taking features from initial idea through to production, ideally across React/TypeScript and Python/Django.
  • Strong system design skills, with the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions and understand the trade-offs involved.
  • A good understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, system architecture and distributed systems.
  • A practical understanding of AI coding tools and how to use them effectively, while still being able to review, challenge and correct AI-generated code.
