Senior Full Stack Engineer (AI-Assisted Development)

DEPARTMENT: Digital Product

LOCATION: Stamford Bridge, London

CONTRACT: Permanent, Full Time

JOB FUNCTION: Deliver the Club's digital product roadmap by building world-class digital experiences for supporters.

Closing date: 4th November

We encourage you to apply as soon as possible. In the event that we receive a large number of applications, the position may be filled before the listed closing date. To avoid missing out, please submit your application at your earliest convenience.

About the Role:

We're hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build and deliver digital features end-to-end. We are looking for someone with a Strong product engineering mindset, with experience working directly with Product Managers and Designers to discover, prototype, test and deliver fan-facing digital experiences. Able to use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards of quality, security, accessibility and performance.

You'll own the journey: technical approach, implementation, testing, accessibility, performance and security. AI accelerates the work; you remain accountable for it. Your code is handed to our external development partner for review and release, so the bar is production quality from day one.

This is a role for a full stack developer who enjoys ownership, product thinking and building well — not just shipping fast. You'll help us experiment quickly, validate ideas with real users and turn successful concepts into production-ready experiences.

What you'll do:

  • Partner with Product Managers to turn requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans
  • Rapidly prototype ideas using AI-assisted tooling to validate solutions before committing to production development
  • Build responsive, accessible, production-ready web experiences for our app, desktop, mobile browsers and web views, on top of our design system
  • Design and integrate with Contentful and contribute to content model design where needed
  • Build and consume APIs, and integrate third-party services
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while critically validating all AI-generated outputs
  • Write automated tests and instrument features for analytics and experimentation
  • Prepare code for review by our external development partner and collaborate through the release process, addressing feedback and supporting deployment
  • Contribute to our engineering standards, reusable components and ways of working

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Solid grasp of software architecture, testing, accessibility, security and performance
  • Confident using modern AI-assisted software development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or equivalent) as part of daily delivery, with the judgement to validate their output.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate delivery, automate repetitive tasks, improve code quality and rapidly validate concepts. Comfortable working within design systems and shared component libraries
