Medicspot
Medicspot is a startup tackling one of the biggest health challenges of our time: obesity. Almost three quarters of adults aged 45–74 in England are overweight or obese, and the problem continues to grow. We deliver GLP-1 weight-loss programmes that help patients across the UK lose weight sustainably and reduce their risk of obesity-related health conditions.
Medicspot is now part of Doctor Care Anywhere 'DCA' following a recent acquisition. This gives us the backing, scale and resources of a larger organisation while allowing our team to retain the speed, ownership and entrepreneurial culture of a startup. As part of DCA, you'll be working within the Medicspot engineering team, helping to shape the future of our products while benefiting from the support and opportunities of the wider group.
We're a passionate, experienced team that loves building products our patients genuinely value, solving problems at their root, and constantly finding better ways to work.
We're now looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join us as the third member of the Medicspot engineering team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You don't need to have used every tool on this list - Next.js, Supabase, Vercel and the rest are all learnable on the job. But because we're a small team and you'll need to hit the ground running, we do need you to be strong with TypeScript and React from day one.
About you
You're an experienced full stack engineer who's comfortable moving across product, application and database concerns. You can take a fuzzy, half-defined problem, ask the right questions, and turn it into something real and well-built. You know when a robust abstraction is worth the investment and when a simpler approach is the smarter call.
You care about the quality of what you build, but you also get that good engineering means balancing maintainability, delivery speed, risk and what the user actually needs. You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical people alike, and you're happy taking responsibility for important decisions.
You'll probably enjoy it here if you like:
- High autonomy and genuine ownership of your work
- Working in a small team and seeing the direct effect of what you ship
- Solving problems across the whole stack
- Simple, well-defined modules and interfaces over unnecessary complexity
- Chipping in across disciplines and helping the wider team
- Continually improving the tools, processes and practices around you
- A fast-moving environment where priorities shift as we learn, and where you help decide the right approach rather than waiting for a full spec
Essential experience
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience
- Strong commercial experience with TypeScript and React
- Experience designing and building backend services and APIs
- Solid knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Experience working in a startup, scale-up or other small, fast-moving team
- Comfortable making sound technical decisions with limited supervision
Useful experience
Any of these would be a bonus, but none are required:
- Next.js and Node.js
- PostgreSQL or Supabase
- Experience getting real leverage from AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor)
- Healthcare or another regulated industry
- Payments and subscriptions
- Third-party service integrations
- CI/CD and cloud deployment
- Application security and data protection
- Monitoring, observability and incident investigation
