Senior Full-Stack Engineer (AI, Data, Manufacturing) — Contract to Perm

Fully Remote (UK) · Outside IR35 · Long-term role

About Us

We're a UK consultancy with 10 years of experience building software for manufacturers. We turn fragmented systems, reports and data into AI-ready context that helps businesses make better decisions. We do this through bespoke client work and through ViewOps, the AI platform we're building from a decade of operational know-how.

We're a small, hungry team hiring our next core engineer. The role starts as a contract and is intended to convert to permanent, with long-term upside as we grow the team that takes ViewOps to the next level.

What makes this different

  • If you prefer practical engineering over corporate process, this role will suit you well. We build systems that solve genuine operational problems, and the work has immediate impact across live manufacturing environments.
  • Fully remote, minimal admin, minimal meetings. We respect your flexibility and give you time to focus.
  • Real autonomy. You own things end-to-end — talk to the client, design it, build it, ship it.
  • A team you'll actually like working with. Principal engineer, analytics consultant — backgrounds in banking and Big Four consultancy. Sharp, supportive, knowledgeable, into the work.
  • We build using AI-first workflows. Claude Code is part of the day-to-day engineering process and used to accelerate delivery, problem-solving and iteration across the stack.
  • We're looking for someone who wants to become part of the core team long-term, not just complete a short-term contract and move on.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll actually be working on

Two intertwined things. They feed each other.

Database360 — Consultancy & Operational Systems

Our live operational platform, used every day by manufacturing teams running real production environments. The stack includes Laravel + Livewire, SQL Server, Python services, ETL pipelines and Power BI — with real users and real operational impact when things go wrong.

The work is varied, practical and fast-moving. Short feedback loops — you build something, the client uses it immediately, and you quickly find out whether it solved the problem.

ViewOps — the platform

ViewOps is the AI platform we're building from years of solving real operational problems in manufacturing environments.

It sits above the systems businesses already run on — SQL databases, Power BI models, Excel files, PDFs, network folders, and operational software — turning fragmented operational data into structured, trusted intelligence.

We're focused on difficult, practical problems:

  • Text-to-SQL against real enterprise schemas
  • RAG over messy operational data
  • Screen recorded workflow mapping
  • Workflow and knowledge tooling that operational teams will actually adopt

The platform is being developed alongside a leading UK food manufacturer and is moving into live alpha testing now. The ambition is significant, and we're building the core team to take it to a wider market.

Who we're looking for

  • Hungry. We work hard because we like the work, not because anyone's watching. If shipping useful things energizes you, you'll fit in.
  • At home in a smaller team. Many of our best people have come from larger tech environments and wanted ownership and impact back at the centre of the work.
  • AI-native. You already use Claude Code, Cursor, or similar daily — and you use them well. You can drop into an unfamiliar codebase or language and be productive fast.
  • Pragmatic. You make things work. You don't overengineer. You'd rather ship something good this week than something perfect next quarter.
  • Client-comfortable. You can be on a Teams call with a factory manager, understand their actual problem, and turn it into a system. Present and clear, not necessarily smooth.
  • A range, not a specialist. You won't know every tech below. You should be confident you can pick up what you don't.
