Senior Full-Stack Engineer - Alpaca Connect
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer - Alpaca Connect based in United Kingdom.
This is a senior engineering opportunity focused on building the tools and services that enable developers to launch and manage applications on a financial technology platform.
You will work across TypeScript, React, Go, APIs, and distributed systems to create secure, intuitive developer experiences.
Your work will directly improve partner onboarding, application management, compliance workflows, marketplace discovery, consent, and permissions.
You will connect these experiences with identity, account, trading, and market data systems while maintaining strong security and reliability.
The role offers substantial ownership, from product design and implementation through production delivery and technical direction.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Compliance, Support, Partnerships, and Platform teams in a globally distributed environment.
It is an excellent fit for an experienced full-stack engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and turning ambiguous requirements into simple, scalable products.
Accountabilities
- Build and maintain full-stack experiences using TypeScript and React, supported by backend services written in Go.
- Develop and improve developer-facing workflows covering application onboarding, testing, compliance review, approval, publishing, and ongoing management.
- Transform manual support and compliance processes into efficient, transparent, and auditable self-service workflows.
- Design and implement APIs and integrations connecting identity, account, trading, and market data systems.
- Build secure workflows for authentication, authorization, consent, and permissions.
- Own features throughout the complete development lifecycle, from requirements and design through implementation, deployment, and production support.
- Work closely with Product and Design to translate complex business and technical requirements into straightforward user experiences.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Support, Partnerships, and Platform teams to ensure solutions meet operational, regulatory, and technical needs.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the team's technical direction.
- Maintain high standards for security, reliability, performance, code quality, and user experience.
- Navigate incomplete or ambiguous requirements using sound technical judgment and a strong ownership mindset.

Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience building and delivering production-grade full-stack applications.
- Strong hands-on expertise with TypeScript and React.
- Professional experience with Go or another modern backend programming language.
- Strong SQL and relational database skills, with PostgreSQL experience preferred.
- Proven experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrating distributed services.
- Practical knowledge of OAuth, OIDC, or comparable authentication and authorization systems.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver secure, user-facing features end to end.
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, scalable application architecture, and production systems.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions when requirements are incomplete or ambiguous.
- Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to independently drive projects from concept through production.
- Experience with developer platforms, partner portals, or marketplaces is a plus.
- Experience designing compliance or operational workflows within regulated industries is advantageous.
- Familiarity with GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and production observability is a plus.
- Experience with financial markets, brokerage systems, or market data is highly valued.
- Previous experience in a startup or distributed remote environment is beneficial.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple countries, cultures, and time zones.
