SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

Build the Future of Cyber Security Learning at Scale

Join TryHackMe as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer. We are a fast-growing, highly profitable cybersecurity training platform trusted by over 9 million learners and 1,000+ enterprise organisations globally, including Google, KPMG and the US Military.

Whether you’re building gamified learning mechanics for millions of individual users, scaling enterprise-grade B2B management tools, or hardening core payment and cloud infrastructure, you’ll join a high-autonomy, high-velocity engineering squad where your decisions directly impact real users from day one.

Location / Time Zone: 100% Remote (UK / EU based with strong overlap with UK business hours required).

The Stack & Engineering Culture

  • Core Stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, Amplify).
  • High Velocity: We operate as a high-trust, high-autonomy team shipping 250+ PRs per week in a modern monorepo setup.
  • Pragmatic AI Workflow: We actively leverage modern AI development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate execution, paired with the engineering rigor to rigorously review, test, and own every line of code that hits production.

Our Squads & What You’ll Own

You will be embedded in a small, cross-functional squad (engineers, product manager, designer) with end-to-end ownership. Based on your background and interests, you’ll make an impact in one of our core product areas:

  • B2B Squad: Build the platform that turns entire organisations into cyber-resilient teams. Own enterprise SSO, granular RBAC, licensing engines, custom syllabus mapping, and CISO-ready skill analytics.
  • Engagement Squad: Shape the learner journey for 9M+ users. Own progression mechanics, leagues, streaks, personalised discovery, and A/B experiments that turn first-time visitors into lifelong learners.
  • Platform Squad: Own the high-leverage infrastructure every squad depends on. Scale payment rails (Stripe/Chargebee), cloud VM delivery tools, internal support systems, and cross-cutting platform performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Ownership: Take ambiguous, loosely defined product problems from initial concept through design, implementation, and production deployment.
  • Architecture & Craft: Design scalable, reliable, and secure RESTful APIs and modern frontend interfaces, keeping long-term maintainability and system performance in mind.
  • Cross-Functional Partnering: Work directly alongside product managers and designers to shape how problems get solved, not just pick up pre-written tickets.
  • Engineering Leadership: Elevate squad quality through thoughtful code reviews, system design discussions, and mentoring fellow engineers.
  • Product Curiosity: Validate what works using data, user feedback, and experimentation rather than relying on opinions.

What You’ll Bring

  • Core Technical Mastery: Strong commercial full-stack experience building production SaaS applications with advanced TypeScript, Node.js, React, and MongoDB/SQL fundamentals.
  • Product Engineer Mindset: You care deeply about user impact and business outcomes, not just backend plumbing. You prefer shipping real value quickly over endless corporate red tape.
  • High Ownership & Autonomy: Comfort working in fast-paced environments where you take full accountability for your features, from database schemas to UI polish.
  • AI-Assisted Efficiency: Experience using modern AI dev tools (Cursor, Claude) to move faster, combined with the technical judgment to critically evaluate and test generated code.
  • Clear Communication: Ability to explain complex technical trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Bonus Points: A genuine interest in cybersecurity, online education, or an active TryHackMe profile you're proud of!
