Senior Full Stack Engineer – Fully Remote

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a backend focus to join a highly profitable technology company with strong product-market fit, no VC funding and a lot of room to grow.

We’ve built a product that customers genuinely want and have done it without relying on venture capital. The business is already extremely profitable, giving us the freedom to focus on building a great product and a sustainable company rather than chasing the next funding round.

We’re now looking for an engineer who wants to have a meaningful impact on that journey.

This isn’t a role where you’ll be handed tickets and asked to work through a backlog. We want someone with high agency who can identify problems, make decisions and take ownership from idea through to production.

What you'll be doing:

  • You’ll be a key part of the engineering team, working across the stack with a strong backend focus.
  • You’ll have significant autonomy and will be trusted to make technical decisions and drive projects forward.

This could mean:

  • Designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs
  • Architecting infrastructure for job processing, analytics and event tracking
  • Building internal tooling around authentication, rate limiting and quotas
  • Working across the frontend and backend to deliver product features
  • Working with Postgres, Redis, AWS and Docker
  • Improving performance, reliability, security and observability
  • Working closely with Product, Design and CX to turn customer problems into great products
  • Improving the developer experience for the wider engineering team
  • Evaluating and adopting new technologies where they genuinely add value

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The most important thing for us isn't ticking every box on a technology list. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, thinks commercially and gets things done.

You’ll ideally have:

  • 2+ years of experience building production software
  • Strong experience with either Python or TypeScript
  • Full-stack experience and the ability to work comfortably across the product
  • Experience designing APIs, databases and backend infrastructure
  • A strong product-first mindset — you care about the problem you're solving, not just the technical implementation
  • High agency and the ability to operate independently
  • Clear, concise communication, particularly in a remote environment
  • Experience with scalable systems, background jobs or high-throughput workloads
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and an appreciation for clean, maintainable code
  • A genuine interest in improving the way you and your teammates build software

How we work:

  • We’re fully remote and give our engineers a high degree of autonomy. (From the UK)

  • We don't believe great engineers need to be micromanaged. You should be comfortable taking an ambiguous problem, asking the right questions, making sensible trade-offs and driving it through to completion.

  • We’re also very progressive when it comes to AI. We want engineers who are actively using AI coding assistants to increase their leverage and move faster, while still understanding and taking ownership of the code they ship.

Our stack

Python / TypeScript · AWS · ECS · SQS · Postgres · Redis · Docker · GitHub Actions · Sentry · LogFire

You don't need experience with everything here. Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly are much more important.

Why join us?

  • Strong product-market fit

We’ve already built a product that customers genuinely want. You’ll be joining a business that has proven demand rather than an early-stage company still trying to figure out whether the market exists.

  • Highly profitable and bootstrapped

We haven't taken VC funding and we're already extremely profitable. That gives us the freedom to make long-term decisions based on our customers and our product rather than external investor pressure.

  • Real equity

This isn't a token options package. We offer straight equity in the business, so you'll have genuine ownership and a direct stake in the value we're building.

  • Real ownership

You’ll have a meaningful amount of autonomy and influence over the product and technical direction. If you see something that could be better, we want you to have the freedom to do something about it.

  • Product over process

We care about building things customers actually want. You'll work closely with Product, Design and CX and have a direct influence on what we build and how we build it.

  • Fully remote

We’re built to operate remotely. We care about your output, communication and ownership rather than where you happen to work.

An exciting few years ahead

The business is already in a strong position and we expect significant growth over the coming years. With a potential exit on the horizon, there is a genuine opportunity to join at an important stage and have your equity become particularly meaningful.

If you're an engineer who likes ownership, wants to build products rather than just features, and wants a genuine stake in the company you're helping build, we'd love to hear from you.
