Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java & React)
Location: London, United Kingdom or Glasgow, Scotland (Hybrid)

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and delivering products that directly influence customer experience, business growth, and the future direction of our technology ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to join a greenfield initiative where you'll shape architecture, influence technical strategy, and help establish engineering standards that will scale for years to come.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you'll work across the entire technology lifecycle, from product discovery and solution design to deployment and continuous improvement. You will:
- Design, build, and operate scalable full-stack applications using Java and React
- Deliver intuitive, accessible, and high-performing user experiences
- Develop secure, resilient, and observable backend services and APIs
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, Designers, and Engineering leaders to solve complex business challenges
- Contribute to architectural decisions and influence long-term technical direction
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing, automation, and continuous improvement practices
- Design and maintain cloud-native solutions on Azure
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices to improve deployment velocity and platform reliability
- Promote AI-assisted software development by leveraging tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code
- Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of learning, collaboration, and technical excellence
- Identify opportunities to simplify systems, reduce technical debt, and improve platform scalability
- Participate in operational support, incident response, and continuous service improvement initiatives

- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java 11+ and related technologies
- Extensive experience building modern web applications with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs and distributed services
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, design patterns, and system design principles
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks
- Experience working within Agile software delivery environments
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of Azure Integration Services, including API Management, Service Bus, and Event Hub
- Experience with event-driven and microservices architectures
- Experience implementing identity and authentication solutions using Azure AD, Azure AD B2C, AWS Cognito, or similar platforms
- Experience working with observability, monitoring, and operational tooling
- Exposure to AI-assisted software engineering practices and developer productivity platforms
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical leadership initiatives
