Shape the Future of Equity Trading Technology
We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a major multi-year transformation programme modernising institutional equities and prime finance platforms.
This is an opportunity to work on business-critical trading and post-trade systems used by global institutional clients, helping to build the next generation of cloud-native, event-driven platforms that process high-volume, real-time financial flows. You'll be joining a highly collaborative engineering environment where technology is central to the business strategy, working across the full stack while contributing to architecture, platform design, and engineering best practices.
What You'll Be Working On
- Building and enhancing real-time equities trading and post-trade applications
- Developing modern full stack solutions using Java and React
- Designing event-driven distributed systems operating at scale
- Creating responsive, data-rich user interfaces for front office users
- Developing APIs, messaging integrations, and backend services
- Contributing to architecture and technical design decisions
- Driving engineering excellence through TDD and automated testing
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and frequent production releases
- Troubleshooting complex production issues in mission-critical environments
- Partnering closely with product, business, and technology stakeholders
- Mentoring engineers and helping shape development standards across the team

What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering experience with Java
- Commercial experience building modern frontend applications with React and/or Angular
- Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS skills
- Experience building event-driven distributed systems
- Solid understanding of messaging architectures, resiliency patterns, and fault tolerance
- Strong Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
- Experience working within Agile engineering teams
- Exposure to CI/CD, trunk-based development, and regular production releases
- Experience building real-time applications using WebSockets or streaming technologies
- Ability to contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making
Capital Markets Experience
You'll bring hands-on experience within capital markets, including knowledge of:
- Trade lifecycle management
- Position management
- Front-to-back trading workflows
- Institutional trading environments
- Experience with Prime Brokerage, Synthetic Swaps, or Cash Equities is particularly valuable.

Bonus Points For
- Kotlin experience, or a willingness to learn
- Kafka, Solace, or TIBCO EMS
- Kubernetes and OpenShift
- SQL Server, MongoDB, and S3/Object Storage
- OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and ELK Stack
- HashiCorp Vault or CyberArk
- Regulatory reporting knowledge (EMIR, MiFID, 871(m))
- Integration experience with risk, valuation, or reporting platforms
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Devin
