Here at Burendo, we're recruiting an experienced Full Stack Engineer who is passionate about operating and improving production systems. This role combines software engineering with service ownership, requiring individuals who are comfortable delivering small, low-risk changes, responding to incidents, managing operational risk, and continuously improving platform reliability. You will work within an L2/L3 managed service team supporting business-critical applications across multiple technologies and cloud platforms, participating in on-call support and leading technical investigations into production issues.

Requirements

Perform business-as-usual operations for a variety of applications:

  • Bug fixes and feature enhancements
  • Patching and package upgrades
  • Secret rotations, certificate renewals and infrastructure upgrades
  • Contribute to the management and resolution of complex L2/L3 incidents
  • Conduct root cause analysis and post-incident investigations
  • Maintain and update runbooks and operational documentation
  • Participate in an on-call rota, including out-of-hours incident response
  • Mentor mid-level and associate engineers within the team

Must-Haves

  • Working knowledge of at least one of Java, Python, NodeJS, or C#
  • Strong hands-on Azure experience
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform
  • Solid understanding of ITIL practices
  • Experience supporting and operating production systems within an on-call environment, including incident triage, technical investigation, remediation and post-incident review
  • Experience implementing and deploying production changes in business-critical environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across application, infrastructure and cloud platforms
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (e.g. Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace)
  • Demonstrable understanding of reliability engineering principles, operational excellence and service ownership

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with any of the following Azure technologies:
    • Container Instances
    • Functions
    • AKS
    • SQL
    • API Management
  • Working knowledge of AWS
  • Working knowledge of highly available architectures
  • Working knowledge of MSSQL, Postgres, or other relational DB systems
  • Exposure to front end technologies such as React.js
  • Experience working within an SRE, platform engineering or managed services environment
  • Experience managing production releases and change approvals
  • Experience with incident management tooling such as PagerDuty, OpsGenie or ServiceNow
  • Experience defining service level indicators (SLIs), service level objectives (SLOs) and operational metrics
  • Experience building self-healing or automated operational processes
