About the Role

Number two on a small team building a generation platform that ships small business websites at editorial quality. You'll work alongside the founder on the pipeline that takes a customer's brief and produces a complete, working site — architecture, copy, type, photographs, layout. Senior means you've done this kind of work before, you have your own opinions about how to do it well, and you can hold up your end when the work is hard.

Tech Stack

  • TypeScript end-to-end (Node/Express on the API, React on the studio)
  • Postgres
  • Queue-driven workers
  • Modern cloud infrastructure

You don't need to know any of that going in — you need to be the kind of engineer who picks up a stack and gets useful in two weeks.

Looking for

  • Someone who's been senior in a small team before
  • Has shipped to real customers
  • Prefers craft to process

Working Style

  • Written-first
  • Async-comfortable
  • Calm
  • Quality over speed, always

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Not for You If

  • You want a 200-person org with predictable career ladders
  • You build for the recruiter, not the customer

Editorial Designer

We're looking for an editorial designer to take a long view of the customer experience — the studio, the marketing, the email templates, the support touchpoints — and hold them to a single editorial standard. The design system (Editorial Craft) is mature; the work is making sure every surface holds the bar.

Looking for

  • A designer who reads books about typography
  • Has opinions about leading and measure
  • Can typeset a marketing email like a magazine spread

Working Style

  • Fortnightly check-ins
  • Async between
  • Deliverables in Figma + production
  • Self-directed

Not for You If

  • You're a UI designer who wants to push pixels in a Figma file
  • You'd rather pick a template than write a brief

Customer Operations

As the first cohort grows, we need someone who can run the dispatch desk — handle inbound briefs, walk customers through onboarding, triage support tickets, surface insights from the first 100 sites back to the engineering work. The job is making sure every customer feels looked after, even when the desk is busy.

  • Understands that an apology that fixes the problem is worth a hundred that don't

  • Written
  • Notion-of-process light
  • The desk runs on care and clarity

Not for You If

  • You want a 200-ticket-a-day call-centre rhythm
  • You treat customer support as the on-ramp to a different role

Contract Role

This is a contract role with the option to convert to permanent if we both find we're a good fit. Three months initial, project-bonused, with the brief and the deliverables agreed up front.
