Senior Full Stack Kotlin Developer

Location: London/Leeds/Bristol

Salary: Up to £70,000

We're hiring a Senior Full Stack Kotlin Developer to join a high-performing consultancy delivering innovative digital solutions across the public and private sectors. You'll help design and build scalable, cloud-native applications that improve services for thousands of users, working within agile, multidisciplinary teams that value collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.

This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, influencing technical direction, and mentoring others while remaining hands-on.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop high-quality software using Kotlin and modern engineering practices.
  • Design and build scalable microservices and REST APIs.
  • Work closely with product, design, and delivery teams to create user-focused digital services.
  • Take ownership of technical delivery, deployment pipelines, and engineering standards.
  • Champion best practice across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and software development.
  • Support and mentor engineers, helping to build strong technical capability across the team.

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Strong commercial experience developing applications with Kotlin and Java.
  • Excellent knowledge of Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.
  • Experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Exposure to Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, or similar frontend technologies.
  • Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • A proven ability to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

  • Knowledge of Kafka or other event-driven technologies.
