Position: Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer
Type: Contractor (15 hours per week)
Compensation: $50–$100/hour
Location: Remote (Global)
About the Opportunity
micro1 is seeking experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Engineers to contribute to advanced software engineering and technical evaluation projects. This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience across both front-end and back-end development who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, reviewing code, debugging systems, and evaluating software architecture.
You'll apply your expertise in modern web technologies, APIs, databases, distributed systems, and software design to create, review, validate, and improve technical solutions across a variety of engineering domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and debug front-end and back-end application components.
- Build user-facing features and the APIs, services, and data models that support them.
- Analyze application architecture and understand existing codebases.
- Trace requests and data flow across browsers, front-end applications, APIs, databases, and external services.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving authentication, application state, persistence layers, networking, and deployments.
- Review and improve code written in multiple programming languages.
- Evaluate software solutions for correctness, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Assess technical implementations and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Create and validate reference solutions for software engineering tasks.
- Provide detailed written feedback on technical quality and implementation decisions.

Required Qualifications
- Strong professional experience developing production-grade full-stack applications.
- Meaningful hands-on experience with both front-end and back-end engineering.
- Experience with modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Go, Rust, or Node.js.
- Strong understanding of browser applications, APIs, databases, and service integrations.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining complete software systems.
- Ability to work effectively within unfamiliar codebases and architectures.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Experience with application security, performance optimization, and software best practices.
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React.
- Experience building and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, distributed systems, and microservices architectures.
- Experience reviewing code and mentoring other engineers.
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and engineering best practices.
- Experience working on large-scale production systems.
- Background in technical assessments, code reviews, or engineering quality evaluation.
