Senior Fund Controller

We are recruiting a Senior Fund Controller for a boutique pan-European real estate investment manager with a very impressive senior management team and an established European investment platform.

The budget for this hire is £90,000 - £110,000 (dependent upon experience) + Excellent Bonus + Benefits.

The business is continuing to grow and deploy capital across Europe, creating an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a high-calibre, entrepreneurial team in a broad and highly visible role.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Fund Controller will take significant ownership of the financial management and reporting across a portfolio of European investments, while working closely with colleagues across Finance, Investment, Asset Management and Development.

This is not a narrowly defined reporting role. The successful candidate will have considerable exposure across the investment lifecycle and will play an important part in developing the finance function as the business continues to scale.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of the financial oversight of investment and property structures across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Managing and challenging third-party administrators and outsourced finance providers.
  • Reviewing management accounts, statutory financial statements and underlying financial information.
  • Leading quarterly investor reporting and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality, timely delivery.
  • Working closely with investor and responding to finance-related queries across the underlying investments.
  • Managing year-end audit processes across relevant investment entities.
  • Supporting annual budgeting and ongoing performance analysis across the portfolio.
  • Working closely with Asset Management and property managers on asset-level financial reporting and business plans.
  • Monitoring portfolio liquidity, distributions and capital requirements.
  • Supporting debt covenant forecasting, reporting and lender requirements.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of financial controls, processes and reporting.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and scalability of the finance function through technology, automation and AI.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
