Harris Hill is delighted to be supporting a leading healthcare charity to recruit a Senior Funding Operations Manager.
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000
Location: London - Hybrid
This is a newly created role within the Funding & Impact team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of the organisation's grant-making activity.
You will oversee funding operations across the full grant lifecycle, from application and assessment through to award, monitoring and closure. You will also play an important role in improving funding systems, processes, data and reporting, helping to ensure the organisation can make effective and informed funding decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of the charity's grant-making processes and annual funding cycles.
- Coordinate grant review and decision-making processes, ensuring accurate and timely information is available.
- Support the administration and monitoring of donor-funded and restricted grants.
- Act as a senior point of contact for applicants, grant holders, reviewers and internal colleagues.
- Lead the day-to-day management and development of grants management systems.
- Improve processes, workflows, automation and the user experience across funding operations.
- Ensure high standards of data quality, governance and reporting.
- Develop and maintain funding policies, procedures and guidance.
- Ensure grants are administered in line with organisational policies, delegated authorities and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to reporting, compliance and wider Funding & Impact projects.

About you
You will have significant experience in grants management, funding operations or a similar operational role, ideally within a charity, academic, healthcare, research or funding environment.
You will also have:
- Experience using grants management, CRM or database systems.
- Experience improving complex processes and workflows.
- Good knowledge of charity governance, compliance and GDPR.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence working with complex data and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
