Position: Senior Funeral Director

Location: West London: W S Bond in Chiswick, W S Bond in Shepherd’s Bush, and Ronald P Sherry & Son in Marylebone

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Salary: £35,179.28 per annum

Lead by example, and be there when families need you most

As a Senior Funeral Director, you’ll guide families through one of the hardest times of their lives with empathy and professionalism, and support your team to do the same.

You’ll spend around 70% of your time delivering and overseeing funerals, and the rest running the day-to-day operations of three branches across Chiswick, Shepherd’s Bush and Marylebone. You’ll lead a team of Funeral Directors, Funeral Service Operatives and Funeral Service Specialists, creating a culture where everyone is proud of their work and every family feels informed, respected and looked after.

Our branches serve a diverse community, including a large Asian community, so you’ll help families arrange funerals that respect a wide range of faiths, cultures and traditions.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support funeral services, delivering complex arrangements, running pre-funeral briefings, and observing your team’s arrangements and funerals to keep care standards high
  • Manage and develop your team, through recruitment, onboarding, 1:1s and performance reviews, and by managing rotas, holiday cover and training
  • Care for the people who have died, making sure everyone in our care is looked after with timely, respectful, high-quality care, and that records and legal documents are always accurate
  • Be on call, sharing the duty phone with your team so families can reach us whenever someone dies, day or night
  • Lead local marketing and community engagement, building relationships with care homes, celebrants and local groups, and representing us at memorials and local events
  • Go beyond funerals, making sure your team is trained to talk with families about funeral plans and the full range of our services

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
