Atlas Green - Senior Gardener
Atlas Green, a leading commercial grounds maintenance and landscaping contractor, is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Gardener with strong traditional gardening skills to maintain the grounds at High Value show arena in and around the Yorkshire area. Responsibilities
- Managing a small team in day to day activities.
- To undertake the full range of landscaping duties to a high standard.
- Understand and articulate plans and drawings.
- To have a good knowledge and understanding of plant types and varieties for all seasons.
- Horticultural operations including formative pruning for a range of plants, annual seasonal bedding operations, pest & disease control, general grass cutting, watering of trees, shrubs and bedding plants
- Hedge cutting, irrigation, strimming, edge reformation
- Weed control
- Ensure hand/power tools and grounds maintenance equipment, machinery and vehicles in your charge are secure, in good working order, carry out routine maintenance and refer major mechanical problems to your line manager
- Participate in on-the-job or other training/development courses to improve ability and effectiveness to carry out duties and completion of training notifications
- Comply with all company and site procedures and regulations
- Ensure an efficient and effective response to incidents/emergencies and maintain effective liaison with colleagues and external services
- Ensure that you observe safety procedures and use safe working practices specifically with regard to COSHH and Risk Assessments, reporting accidents and near misses to your line manager
- To undertake any other duties that may be required within your area of your responsibility.
- DBS / CRB certificate checks to be undertaken.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in soft landscaping is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- A keen eye for detail with a passion for creating aesthetically pleasing landscapes.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
