Roland Mouret Sculpts the Feminine Form
Roland Mouret sculpts the feminine form through intelligent construction, era-defining draping and corsetry that turns cloth into architecture. As Senior Garment Technologist you will protect that signature, translating design intent into garments that fit, move and last so every woman who wears Roland Mouret feels both powerful and at ease.
Performance Objectives
- Deliver first-prototype fittings that achieve 90%+ design-intent accuracy within two weeks of pattern receipt, reducing subsequent sample rounds by at least one cycle per style.
- Establish and maintain graded size sets across all womenswear that hold silhouette integrity from UK 6–16, measured by zero critical fit failures at bulk production.
- Partner with design and production to resolve construction and fabric-behaviour issues before cutting, cutting average sampling cost per style by 15% within the first two seasons.
- Own technical packs, spec sheets and measurement charts so factories receive unambiguous, ready-to-cut information on every handover.
- Audit incoming bulk against sealed samples and lead time-critical corrections that keep on-time delivery above 95%.
- Mentor junior technicians and pattern-makers so the studio’s draping and corsetry knowledge is captured, shared and continuously improved.

Environment & Resources
You report to the Head of Design and sit at the centre of a tight London studio of designers, pattern-cutters and production specialists. You will work with our existing CAD and 3D tools, have direct access to the designer’s draping table, and influence fabric and trims decisions. Budget and supplier relationships for sampling and testing sit with you.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven ability to turn complex draped and structured silhouettes into production-ready patterns that retain the original line and volume.
- Mastery of women’s ready-to-wear grading, fit analysis and fabric behaviour on body, evidenced by collections that have gone from catwalk to store without major recuts.
- Hands-on experience writing and policing technical packs that factories actually follow.
- Track record of reducing sample iterations and cost while protecting design integrity in a luxury or contemporary womenswear environment.
- Comfortable mentoring others and working at pace inside a small, high-expectation studio.
