Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Senior GCP DevSecOps Engineer to build, deploy, and manage secure cloud platform capabilities within a large-scale enterprise environment. This role is responsible for engineering and operating Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure using automation-first practices, embedding security throughout cloud platforms and delivery pipelines, and ensuring compliance with enterprise cloud security standards. The successful candidate will leverage Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps methodologies, and cloud-native technologies to improve operational resilience, cloud security, and platform scalability.
What you will do:
- Build, deploy, and manage components of the GCP foundation platform using Google Cloud services, including GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Build, and Cloud Run.
- Engineer repeatable platform and security capabilities using Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform and Config Connector while following established engineering standards.
- Implement and enhance preventive security controls and guardrails to improve cloud security posture and reduce operational risk.
- Integrate, configure, deploy, and manage cloud services across IAM, networking, logging, monitoring, operating systems, and container platforms.
- Embed security into delivery pipelines by building and supporting CI/CD and continuous testing capabilities using Cloud Build, GitOps tooling, FluxCD, Helm, and related technologies.
- Ensure alignment and compliance with centrally defined cloud security standards by maintaining audit evidence, controls mapping, configuration management, and documentation.
- Operate within established change management practices by producing impact assessments and supporting controlled, traceable deployments.
- Maintain high-quality operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures to enable sustainable operations and effective knowledge transfer.
- Develop automation-first engineering solutions using Infrastructure as Code and scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes environments, container platforms, and CI/CD pipelines while supporting resilient and reliable operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by simplifying operational processes and reducing manual effort through automation.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, compliance, and business stakeholders to communicate technical solutions, manage risk, and support secure cloud platform delivery.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated hands-on experience building and operating production environments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong experience with core GCP services, including GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Build, and Cloud Run.
- Expert understanding of cloud security principles and GCP security best practices, including IAM, network security, workload security, logging, and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including observability, incident response, reliability, and engineering resilience.
- Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Config Connector, including module design, policy-driven controls, and automated deployment patterns.
- Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitOps, FluxCD, Helm, or similar tooling with embedded security controls.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, Bash, or similar scripting languages for automation and operational tooling.
- Experience supporting security and compliance initiatives, including auditability, configuration management, control evidence, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, container platforms, and CI/CD environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solid understanding of risk management and experience ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements.
- Experience implementing secure and compliant GCP capabilities using automation-first engineering practices.
- Experience operating regulated workloads within large enterprise environments is preferred.
- Experience with container security patterns, Kubernetes hardening, and integrating security findings into DevSecOps workflows is preferred.
- Google Cloud certifications, such as Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Professional Cloud Architect, are highly desirable.
