Role Overview
The role is a senior consulting position, leading the end-to-end design and delivery of Google Cloud and AI solutions for financial services clients. You will own solution architecture from discovery through to implementation, ensuring secure, resilient and cost-effective platforms suitable for regulated environments. Alongside delivery, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, support pre-sales and propositions, and help shape the growth, accelerators and technical standards of this new practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery workshops and requirements gathering with senior technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Own end-to-end solution architecture, from high-level design to detailed designs ready for implementation.
- Design secure, resilient and cost-optimised Google Cloud architectures for regulated workloads.
- Design and build AI-enabled features and agentic workflows using Gemini Enterprise and related services.
- Stay hands-on during delivery through prototyping, code reviews and technical problem solving.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, providing guidance to engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
- Support pre-sales activity including scoping, proposal creation and technical presentations.
- Develop reusable accelerators, reference architectures and delivery patterns, while mentoring and developing colleagues.

About the Candidate
- Experienced consultant with a proven track record of owning client relationships and delivering within complex environments.
- Strong background in financial services, with a clear understanding of how regulation and compliance influence technical design and delivery.
- Hands-on expertise designing and building modern Google Cloud architectures, including serverless, containers, IaC, CI/CD, and associated security and networking controls.
- Practical experience building AI-enabled systems (e.g. RAG, agent frameworks, model evaluation) and sound judgement on where AI genuinely adds value.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals in at least one modern language such as Java, Python or TypeScript, with the ability to contribute to reviews and prototyping.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator, credible with both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
- Ideally holds relevant Google Cloud Professional certifications (e.g. Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer).
- Comfortable contributing to pre-sales, recruitment, and wider technical communities through activities such as speaking, writing or open-source work.
