About The Role
Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable low-carbon electricity.
The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke.
We are more than just an alliance, we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.
What you'll be doing
To provide leadership and control of a team comprising, General Foremen, Section Foremen, Junior Foremen and Gangers for the Enabling works team.
- Experience in controlling night shift teams including specialist sub-contractors.
- Earthworks experience.
- P, Q, and structural concrete experience.
- Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately.
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity; experienced at encouraging direct reports to do the same and managing a team to ensure tasks are carried out effectively and key messages cascaded.
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights, as required by the programme.
- Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility.
Who we're looking for
Essential
- Capable of taking ownership of the works or a section of the works from start to finish, including the handover of the works.
- Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately.
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes.
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights.
- Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility.
- Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card.
- SMSTS.
- Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired
- Experience working within environmental protected sites.
- Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: ground improvement techniques, earthworks, drainage, structures.
