RSK Raw part of the RSK Group have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our team.
The role can be based in either our Cambridge or Newbury offices in the UK.
RSK Raw offers multi-disciplinary environmental protection and risk reduction services to a wide range of industries and clients across the UK, and are specialists in the provision of spill response, contamination investigation and remediation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Pro-active assessment of pollution risks to the environment and the application of a variety of techniques for containing and recovering contaminants;
- Maintaining accurate site notes, and excellent time management, organisational and communication skills at all times;
- Managing and delivering Phase I and Phase II site investigations;
- Managing rapid response to environmental incidents in a variety of urban and rural settings;
- Organising, managing, and supervising site works;
- Procuring and managing subcontractor, ensuring control of financial and health and safety matters;
- Preparing and reviewing cost proposals / tenders;
- Preparing and reviewing complex factual and interpretative reports;
- Preparing and reviewing Health and Safety documentation, including method statements, risk assessments and site records;
- Adherence to RSK Raw management systems, including site specific and point of work health & safety risk assessments and method statements;
- Financial control of allocated projects including project driven invoicing and applications for payment, issuing of purchase orders, and chasing payment on outstanding and overdue invoices;
- Ensuring compliance with project contract conditions;
- Accountable for management and performance of projects and continued delivery of a high quality service, providing clear, commercially focused solutions;
- Pro-active client management, maintaining good communication throughout the lifecycle of a project, being aware of the client’s needs and providing regular progress reports and confirming any variances as they arise;
- To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company's evolving needs, you may be asked to perform additional tasks that may be reasonably expected within your level of capability without additional remuneration.

Additional Information
Although the role is regionally focussed, there may sometimes be a need for travel and staying away from home to cover the needs of the business throughout England, Scotland, and Wales.

Qualifications/Experience
- At least 5 years’ relevant industry experience;
- Project management experience;
- A degree level qualification in a science / environment / land related subject;
- Membership of a professional body;
- Flexible attitude to work;
- Enthusiasm and drive to deliver the requirements of this role;
- The ability to work as an effective member of a team and on your own initiative;
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills;
- CSCS card;
- Full UK / EC driving licence (essential).

- Salary Up to £40,000 depending on experience
