Purpose & Scope of the Role

Following continued growth and new project frameworks, we are seeking a Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our Belfast team.
Your Impact in this position
You’ll deliver and oversee contaminated land, ground investigation and hydrogeological work across a diverse range of sectors. You’ll plan, manage and supervise site investigations, interpret technical data, author and review robust reports, liaise confidently with clients and stakeholders, and support the continued growth of our profile and business development strategy.
5 Core Capabilities
- Ground Investigation & Site Management – Plan, manage and supervise ground investigations, including groundwater and ground gas monitoring, with relevant site accreditations such as SMSTS, SSSTS or CSCS advantageous.
- Contaminated Land Assessment – Apply current technical guidance and development planning requirements to produce Phase 1 desk studies, preliminary risk assessments and Phase 2 interpretative reports.
- Data Interpretation & Reporting – Undertake qualitative and quantitative risk assessments and communicate findings through clear, concise and technically robust reports.
- Technical & Regulatory Knowledge – Apply current standards and guidance for contaminated land investigation and remediation, supported by strong health, safety and environmental management awareness.
- Client, Team & Business Development – Build effective relationships with clients, stakeholders and colleagues, while contributing to business development and the team’s growing market profile.

Training, Qualifications & Experience
You’ll hold a degree in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology or a relevant environmental science discipline. A postgraduate qualification, such as a Master’s, is desirable, as is progress towards Chartership with CIWEM, IEMA, the Geological Society or another relevant professional body. Postgraduate industry experience, excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivation, sound technical knowledge and a full, preferably clean, driving licence are required.

Working Environment
Based in Belfast, the role is expected to be approximately 50% site-based and 50% office-based, although this may vary according to workload. Flexible and hybrid working can be discussed where compatible with project and client requirements.
