Ground Testing Ltd Job Opportunity
Ground Testing Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced, and highly organised individual to join our growing business to help manage the day-to-day delivery of our on-site testing services.
This is a varied role combining operational coordination, technical reporting, client liaison, and business development. You will work closely with the company directors, helping to organise technicians, plan site work, and ensure projects progress efficiently from the initial enquiry through to reporting and invoicing.
Alongside supporting our existing operations, we would like the successful candidate to help introduce and develop additional services that complements our current work. This could include asphalt testing, ground gas/water monitoring, or another suitable area based on the candidate’s existing knowledge and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and coordinating technicians’ daily and weekly workloads
- Ensuring technicians have the correct information, equipment, and documentation to undertake their work
- Supporting technicians with practical and technical queries
- Liaising with clients regarding site access, scope of work, and testing requirements
- Reviewing site records, checking test data, and issuing factual reports
- Monitoring projects from initial enquiry through to completion, including preparing quotations and invoicing
- Coordinating laboratory testing with external laboratories. Ensuring samples, paperwork, and results are correctly tracked
- Assisting with the commercial management of jobs
- Helping maintain quality, health, and safety and UKAS related procedures
- Helping identify, establish, and grow additional testing or monitoring services
- Developing relationships with existing and prospective clients

Experience We Are Looking For
We are interested in candidates with practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
Highly Desirable
- Highways or asphalt testing
- Gas & groundwater monitoring
- Contamination testing (Experience in HazWaste)
- Managing technicians, site teams, or field operations
- Developing new technical services or bringing in additional work
Desirable
- Plate load, in-situ CBR, soakaway, or similar site testing
- UKAS accredited testing
- Geotechnical & chemical laboratory scheduling
- Factual technical reporting
- Validation Sampling
- Material Management Plans (MMPs)
- Quotation preparation and project coordination
Experience across every area is not expected. Of particular interest would be someone who has specialist experience that could be developed into an additional service for the company.
A relevant degree or technical qualification would be beneficial, but substantial and relevant industry experience will be equally valued.

About You
You should be:
- Practical, technically capable, and commercially aware
- Highly organised and able to manage several live jobs simultaneously
- Confident coordinating and supporting site technicians
- Comfortable communicating directly with clients
- Able to interpret specifications and understand testing requirements
- Capable of producing clear, accurate reports and written correspondence
- Willing to take ownership of jobs and see them through to completion
- Interested in helping develop a new area of the business
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with the company directors
- Willing to undertake occasional site visits when required
- Flexible regarding occasional early starts, travel, and overnight stays
- In possession of a full UK driving licence
Salary & Benefits
- Salary from £40,000, negotiable depending on experience
