Location: Edinburgh

Salary: GBP45,000 - GBP55,000

Type: Full-time, Permanent

A leading engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their Edinburgh team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced geotechnical engineer looking to take on greater technical responsibility across a varied portfolio of infrastructure, commercial and development projects.

The Role

  • Delivering geotechnical design and assessment across a range of projects.
  • Planning and managing ground investigations and interpreting site investigation data.
  • Producing geotechnical reports, interpretative reports and technical specifications.
  • Undertaking foundation, retaining wall, slope stability and earthworks design.
  • Reviewing ground conditions and developing appropriate geotechnical solutions.
  • Providing technical input into multidisciplinary projects.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Assisting with project management, fee proposals and business development.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience within a UK geotechnical consultancy or contractor environment.
  • Strong technical experience across ground investigation and geotechnical design.
  • Experience with relevant design software and Eurocodes.
  • Good understanding of UK ground conditions and geotechnical practice.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartered status with ICE, IOM3 or an equivalent professional body.
  • Full UK driving licence.
