Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Birmingham/Hybrid - £65,853–£74,474 + Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the largest infrastructure projects in a generation. We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership across the programme and supply chain.

You will act as a Geotechnical Subject Matter Expert, providing technical advice and assurance across the project. Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing geotechnical leadership and technical support across the programme.
  • Undertaking technical assurance of design and construction activities.
  • Responding to RFIs, Technical Queries and Departures.
  • Contributing to the development and review of technical standards and specifications.
  • Supporting ground investigation, foundations, earthworks and geotechnical engineering activities.
  • Identifying technical issues and root causes and providing effective solutions.
  • Working closely with delivery teams, designers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach.

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or a related discipline, with Chartered status/professional membership or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally on major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of ground investigation, foundations, earthworks and geotechnical design and construction.
  • Experience applying technical standards and undertaking technical assurance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience analysing data and reporting findings to support decision-making.
  • Understanding of NEC3 contracts, commercial, risk and interface management.
